# Per-book options

Override the site defaults for one book, and keep everything else in sync.

Open a book (**FlipBooks** → the book's title). The FlipBook settings box has the same tabs as the [site settings](/documentations/site-wide-settings/), plus **Source**.

## Customize only what you need

Each option has a **Customize** checkbox. Unticked, the option is greyed out, shows the site default and follows any later change to it. Tick it to set a value for this book only.

- **Customize**: when ticked, this book overrides the site default.
- **The value**: for example, the book opens in a lightbox with a cover and title, while the site default stays Embedded.

The tab badges show how many options you have customised on that tab. **Reset all options to the site defaults** at the bottom clears every override.

## Which value wins?

1. Shortcode or block attributes (most specific)
2. The book's own options
3. Site-wide settings
4. The plugin's built-in defaults

## Images instead of a PDF

On the **Source** tab choose **Images** and pick one image per page, in page order. Image books have no search, text layer or download button.
